Hey there, I'm Yong, the brains and heart behind The Urbanist Singapore. Back in the 80s, my love for urban exploration ignited when my grandparents took me to every new McDonald's opening in Singapore.

Today, I'm all about sharing my passion for Singapore's heritage and urban design. With a background in urban and cultural geography, I scored the then-Preservation of Monuments Board's Honours Research Grant in 2009, digging into colonial buildings' significance for younger Singaporeans.

But here's the real deal: I live to share my love for heritage and urban design. Leading heritage walks as a hobby since 2010, I bring history to life for the community.
