Hey there, I’m Yong, the brains and heart behind The Urbanist Singapore.
With a background in urban and cultural geography, I was fortunate to have scored the then-Preservation of Monuments Board’s Honours Research Grant in 2009, digging into colonial buildings’ significance for younger Singaporeans.
But here’s the real deal: I live to share my love for heritage and urban design. Leading heritage walks as a hobby since 2010, I love bringing history to life for the community. And now, as the dude behind @urbanist.singapore, my TikTok and Instagram account aims to make heritage alive for a whole new generation.
